PointsBet has paid out over $1 million to punters who backed losing teams as part of its Round 13 AFL Early Payout promotion.
Per the terms at PointsBet, Head to Head bets placed on any side playing across Thursday, Friday and Saturday are paid out if your team kicks the opening two goals of the match, regardless of the result.
Bets placed on Richmond to beat Adelaide on Thursday night in Round 13 were paid out instantly at $4 when Mabior Chol and Tom Lynch booted the first two majors. The Tigers were blown out 68-101.
Gold Coast and Port Adelaide were also paid out at $2.30 and $2.10 respectively on Saturday afternoon, after each side coughed up their early two-goal leads.
As a result, wagers made on eight out of the 10 teams in action across Thursday, Friday and Saturday were paid out as winners.
$1.2 million in total was paid out to members who had backed losing sides in Round 13.
