Ollie Henry is set to be sidelined after suffering a testicular rupture during Friday night's loss to Richmond, expected to miss a couple of weeks of footy.

The Cats confirmed the injury news on Tuesday, revealing that the 20-year-old will miss Geelong's upcoming clash against Fremantle, but are hopeful of regaining Tyson Stengle and Jack Henry from injury.

Stengle hasn't featured for the Cats since Round 5 after suffering an arm fracture, but is has returned to full training. Henry is yet to play for Geelong in 2023 after suffering a foot injury in the pre-season, but is now looming as a possible inclusion in Round 10.

Brad Close will also be available for selection after serving his suspension for a dangerous tackle in Round 8.

โ€œBrad Close will return from suspension, great that Closey's returned, and also as Scotty mentioned last week, Jack Henry is in the mix as is Tyson Stengle who's coming back from the arm fracture and Jack has had the footy issue, but both are full training at the moment,โ€ Geelong head of football Simon Lloyd said to club media.

โ€œLate in the game Ollie Henry had a testicular rupture from a collision, so post game he reported it to the club, to our medicos, and he's had that repaired so he'll miss a couple of weeks.โ€

The Cats confirmed more good news on the injury front, with a host of players to return from injury in the coming weeks. Sam De Koning (face) and Patrick Dangerfield (hamstring) are among those set to return after making strong progress in their respective recoveries.

โ€œOver the next couple of weeks, the next two to three weeks, we've got a cast of players looking to return,โ€ Lloyd said.

โ€œSam De Koning is one of those who is currently back into full training and is moving really well, we know what Sam can do and there are others that are in the mix as well.

โ€œWe've got Pat Dangerfield, Gary Rohan and Jack Bowes who all have minor soft tissue injuries so the first two are minor hamstring and Jack was a minor calf.

โ€œAll are progressing really well through their rehabilitation programs.โ€
