Just over 60 days ago, Carlton thrashed North Melbourne on Good Friday to the tune of 82 points at Marvel Stadium. However, Saturday outing's script had been flipped on its head.

The much-improved Kangaroos outfit had jumped out to a handy 46-point lead late in the third term, and held on to be the eventual winners, completing a 93-point turnaround between the two clashes.

Blues coach Michael Voss was livid in his post-match address as his charges dropped a game they shouldn't have, which culminated in an animated spray at the final change.

"That's not acceptable, the way that we played through that period of time ... it just didn't sit with the mids," Voss said.

"North Melbourne were much too good around the contest for us.

"I felt like for a middle patch there, they probably bullied us."

However, a spirited comeback (of sorts) saw Carlton pile on five unanswered goals to claw the margin back to a respectable level, albeit too little, to late.

Onlookers at the ground would've noticed the negative reception from the Carlton faithful at the majority of the end switches, which is something their coach addressed.

"It's not time to isolate, it's time to come together," Voss said of the booing.

"We love coming to the ground and having the supporter base we have and the passion that our supporters have, but we share in their disappointment."

Finalists in the past two seasons, Carlton slumped to 6-8 and will sit two games outside of the top eight by the end of the round.

Voss denied that his future at the Blues was on the line, saying he will continue to look at improving instead of throwing in the towel.

"It's more about staying present to where we're at ... the competitor in me is about getting better tomorrow," he said.
