North Melbourne midfielder George Wardlaw has been ruled out of Saturday's game against Geelong with illness.
Wardlaw was battling a "sniffle" throughout the week, and trained away from the group on Thursday at Arden Street.
The gun on-baller has been replaced by Tom Blamires in the senior side.
The other change for the Kangaroos is the returning Charlie Comben, who has overcome illness, which resulted in his absence during last week's loss against GWS.
"He's fully recovered (from illness) and he's good to go," coach Alastair Clarkson said.
Comben lives with Wardlaw, but has replaced Toby Pink in the senior side.
Blamires' void, who was previously on the emergency list, has been filled by Cooper Harvey, joining Jacob Konstanty and Pink.
North Melbourne has a shocking recent record against Geelong, losing to them on 14 consecutive occasions, and the Roos' most recent win against the Cats occurred in Round 15, 2015.
"We want to see how much we've improved, how much more competitive we are, how many we can win against these benchmark teams, like Brisbane three weeks ago," Clarkson said.
"It's another big challenge this week against a very experienced team on their home ground."
