Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps has avoided a suspension for his chicken wing tackle on St Kilda's Hugo Garcia during Saturday night's match-up.
The incident occurred in the third quarter of the game when Cripps was part of three Blues tackling Garcia, with the Carlton superstar holding onto Garcia's right arm throughout the tackle.
Although the tackle caused an uproar from former Blue-turned-Saint Jack Silvagni, the Match Review Officer has deemed it as only a fine of $1,500 for misconduct, downgraded to $1000 with an early plea.
Garcia himself received a $1,500 fine for careless contact with an umpire in the second quarter, which can also be reduced to $1,000.
Young Blues key defender Harry Dean was handed a $1,500 fine for his push on St Kilda's Liam Henry in the goal square, which resulted in a double goal, in the third term. That fine can be reduced to $1,000 with an early plea.
Over at Optus Stadium, West Coast's Elijah Hewett has been given a $3,000 fine for striking Richmond veteran Nick Vlastuin in the third quarter. The incident was graded careless conduct, low impact and high contact. The fine can be reduced to $2,000 with an early plea.
From the match between Essendon and Brisbane at Marvel Stadium, Bombers midfielder Jye Caldwell has been handed a $1,500 for making careless contact with an umpire which can be downgraded to $1,000. Brisbane star Hugh McCluggage received the exact same fine for the same offence.
