Melbourne captain Nathan Jones says he would be for the AFL introducing a red card send-off rule, on the back of the Andrew Gaff incident on Sunday.

Speaking on SEN, Jones said “I’m not against it. They don’t happen too often, it’s not like you see that every day like the 1980’s, but in particular for an incident like that I think it’s warranted."

Jones highlighted how one incident can lead to others as ramifications.

“You don’t want all-in brawls and fights off the back of an issue like that so I’m for it.”

Jones said his teammate and brother of Andrew, Angus Brayshaw was "a little bit rattled" by the situation.

"It's definitely something we don't want to see too often," Jones said.
