The Demons have announced the delisting of defender Oscar McDonald.

The 24-year old has made 81 senior appearances for Melbourne over six seasons since making his debut in 2015.

He played 25 games in 2018 in the Demons' preliminary campaign in his most consistent season in the red and blue.

However, McDonald fell out of favour of Simon Goodwin's best 22 in 2020, playing just seven games.

Demons GM of Football Josh Mahoney thanked McDonald for his contributions to the club.

“Oscar has been a popular member of the footy club over the past six years and we would like to thank him for his valuable contributions,” Mahoney told the club website.

“Letting players go at this time of the year is always challenging, but we wish Oscar all the best for the future.”

He joins Kyle Dunkley, Corey Wagner, Josh Wagner, Bulldogs-bound Mitch Hanan and retiree Harley Bennell in departing the club.
