Reports from Channel 7’s Tom Browne has reported Conor McKenna will miss Essendon’s clash against Gold Coast this weekend due to a friend’s wedding in Ireland.

McKenna has been given permission to fly home, with the star defender to return next week and at this stage only miss the one game.

Essendon was notified about this some time ago it is understood and gave the Irishman their blessing well before today.

Essendon could move into the top six with a win this weekend as Richmond and Collingwood play each other – and after an average start to the year, the Dons are starting to hit the ground running before the finals.
