Melbourne defender Oscar McDonald has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2020 season.

Demons GM of football operations was excited by the the 22-year old's development and how he can continue to grow.

“Oscar is a young developing defender who has taken on a lot of responsibility within our defence,” Mahoney told melbournefc.com.

“He has built strong understanding with his fellow defenders and we look forward to him continuing to develop in his role.”

Taken with pick 53 in the 2014 national draft, McDonald has played all 23 games for the Demons this season, taking his total tally to 60.
