Fremantle Coach Justin Longmuir has come out in support for Carlton Coach David Teague.
Despite speculation on Teague's future at the club, Longmuir believes he has not been given a fair go.
When asked about the treatment of Teague on Sportsday, Longmuir did not hold back on the unfair treatment he believes his friend has endured.
“David’s a mate of mine and my only stake in that is my friendship with him," Said Longmuir.
“I don’t think it’s gone overly well for him. I don’t think he’s been given a fair go to be honest.
“I’m looking at it from the side of friendship and that’s probably the only side I can take.
“I see a young coach in his second year that’s giving it his all. I’ve tried to support him along the way and I’ll continue to do that.
“We talk regularly and we support each other through all situations and we’ll continue to do that.”
The coaching pair have had a long history together, first forming their friendship during their time as coaches at the West Coast Eagles.
However, Teague also played alongside Longmuir’s brother Troy at Princes Park in the mid-2000s for a couple of seasons.
With many believing that Carlton's final game of the season this Saturday could be Teague's last, the club are in desperate need of a final win.
The game is also the last of Levi Casboult's career, as well as legendary AFL star Eddie Betts, who will play his 350th and final game.
Carlton will take on GWS in their final game of the season this Saturday night.
