Sydney coach John Longmire has responded to speculation surrounding his future at the Swans.

Longmire's name is rumoured to be at the top of North Melbourne's wishlist, after coach Brad Scott stepped aside from his duties at the Roos following their win over Western Bulldogs on Saturday.

The Swans' coach played all 200 AFL games for North Melbourne, and is one of a number of current coaches across the league who have history at the Roos.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, Longmire fielded questions about the link to the Roos, but played a straight bat with his reply.

Longmire is currently contracted until the end of the 2020 season with the Swans.
