North Melbourne today won its 16th consecutive match over Melbourne.

The Roos currently hold the longest active winning streak over another club in the competition.

However, Hawthorn and Geelong, given their recent dominance over the majority of the competition, are not far behind, with big winning streaks over Carlton, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs.

But, they all pale into insignificance compared to the all-time longest winning streaks over another club.

Collingwood hold the all-time longest winning streak over another club, with 29 consecutive wins over Hawthorn from round three, 1925 to round 13, 1941.
