The Brisbane Lions, who currently sit on the bottom of the ladder with five rounds to play, are reportedly open to trading away their No.1 draft pick should they finish on the bottom of the ladder at season's end.
Foxsports reports the Lions are open to considering all options as they look to further rebuild their list, including trading the first selection in the draft.
However, they will only trade the pick for what would be extremely good compensation, for example, two top 10 draft picks.
Given the top end talent in this year's draft pool is considered fairly even, gaining two top 10 picks rather than the first selection could bode well for the Lions as they look to gain more first class talent and build their list for the future.
St Kilda and Richmond currently have two selections in the first round.
However, Brisbane is not guaranteed to finish last on the ladder, with North Melbourne only above the Lions on percentage, while Carlton is one win clear, in 16th place.
Brisbane host the Kangaroos at the Gabba in Round 23, with the winner likely to avoid the wooden spoon.
