Brisbane has offered a long-term deal to Gold Coast youngster Callum Ah Chee starting in 2020, according to AFL.com.au.

The Lions are set to be very active in the trade period as they have a chunk of their salary cap to spend.

Ah Chee, 21, officially requested a trade away from the Suns last week as he looks to slot into Chris Fagan's back six next season.

The Lions have admitted they are looking to add depth to their midfield and half back stocks and with money to spend, Ah Chee looks like a great asset to bring in to the club.

Ah Chee has played 45 games for the Suns since debuting for them in 2016 though only played one game this year after persistent injuries kept him on the sidelines.

Brisbane have picks 17, 19, 32 and 42, with the latter two in the mix to used on Ah Chee once the Trade Period commences on October 7.
