Collingwood defender Stephanie Chiocci has been ruled out of Saturday's clash with St Kilda after suffering an Achilles injury.

The 33-year-old omission has opened the door for forward Imogen Barnett however, who will make her AFLW debut.

Barnett was recruited to the Holden Centre from Collingwood's VFLW program, where she claimed the league's leading goalkicker award after booting 21 goals from 15 appearances.

Chiocci's absence will be greatly felt, with the veteran utility named on the wing for the clash at Victoria Park.

The change is sure to add further headaches for senior coach Steve Symonds, who lost gun trio Chloe Molloy (health and safety protocols),  Brianna Davey (ACL) and Tarni Brown (concussion) ahead of the weekend.

Amelia Velardo, Aliesha Newman and Alana Porter were named as the inclusions for the Round 2 clash.

The match between Collingwood and St Kilda is set to commence at 3:10pm AEDT at Victoria Park.
