Richmond legend Kevin Bartlett says new Magpie Adam Treloar is "delusional" if he thinks Collingwood's list is better than Richmond's.

Treloar said in an interview on Wednesday that he decided to sign for Collingwood over Richmond as he believed the Pies have a better list and are closer to winning a premiership than the Tigers.

Bartlett said on SEN radio on Thursday morning that Treloar has his head in the clouds.

"Adam Treloar is a gun young player. An exciting talent. Someone who can even win a Brownlow medal," Bartlett said.

"But the poor kid has been brainwashed by some propaganda witch doctor from Collingwood. Either that or his head was so far in the clouds at the Pies’ Falls Creek training camp yesterday and he became delusional.

"Claiming he signed with the Pies because they had a better and younger list than Richmond and could win a flag in a couple of years... I know Treloar has been in Sydney for the past four years and the AFL doesn’t get much media, and has missed the fact that the Pies have been on a serious slide since 2011 and have won two flags in 57 years.

"Adam, you’ll have to be twice as good as I think you are for the Pies to win a flag before Richmond.

"Your coach made the same big call in choosing Collingwood over Brisbane to win premierships."
