North Melbourne are believed to have placed Jared Polec on the trade table as 7 News reporter Tom Browne suggests the club have told their wingman to find a new home.

While the Kangaroos have only recently told Polec to move on from the club, Melbourne are believed to be interested in the out-of-favour midfielder.

The 27-year-old wingman has fallen out-of-favour at the Kangaroos and is keen to make a move to a fourth club.

The Demons have shown some interest and are likely to offer a late draft pick, while Polec will have to take a pay cut if he wishes to sign with Melbourne.

The Demons are not prepared to overpay him or come close to the deal he signed when joining North Melbourne at the end of the 2018 season.

The Wingman could help the Demons with their run and carry along with delivery and finishing skills in the forward half.

Although Polec is on the Dees radar, he is not seen as a must-have come the November trade period.

It is unclear at this stage, whether there are any other suitors for the No. 5 draft pick who was dropped three times this year but finished the year strongly.

The Demons are set to meet with Polec and establish his intentions for 2021 and aim to seek feedback on where things broke down at North Melbourne.

Polec has three more years to run on his contract at the Kangaroos after previous stints at Brisbane and Port Adelaide.
