St Kilda forward Nick Riewoldt has confirmed there was no structural damage to his knee following an incident late in the Saints’ loss to Melbourne on Saturday.

Riewoldt landed awkwardly during the last quarter of the match and was taken off on a stretcher, with fears the injury could have been season ending.

The 34-year-old confirmed on his Instagram page the injury wasn’t a serious one, but isn’t sure when he’ll return to AFL football.

Journalist Damian Barrett detailed the extent of Riewoldt’s injury further on Channel Nine’s Sunday Footy Show, stating that the star Saint will now miss “between four to six weeks.”
