Melbourne defender Steven May has had his appeal thrown out by the AFL Tribunal, meaning he will miss the Demons' round one clash with Port Adelaide on March 23.
May was charged with making careless conduct with medium impact to the head of Brisbane's Jarrod Berry in the fourth quarter of their JLT clash on Saturday.
Melbourne were trying to downgrade the charge, although proved unsuccessful in their attempts, meaning May's Demons debut must now wait until their round two clash with Geelong.
