North Melbourne have released the following statement and suspended Taylor Garner for a further three weeks after "failing to meet club standards and expectations" during a weekend getaway in Sydney.

Garner was allegedly involved in an altercation at a Sydney venue, and with the matter still being investigated by police, the Roos made the following statement.

Following further discussions with the North Melbourne leadership group and interim coach Rhyce Shaw, Taylor Garner has accepted the following outcomes, after failing to meet club standards and expectations during a weekend away in Sydney.

Taylor will:
- Not be available for AFL selection for a further three weeks – he will continue to play and train with the VFL
- Undertake one month full-time work outside of the club
- Make a $5,000 donation to charity

As the matter in question is still under investigation by NSW police, the club cannot make any specific comment.
