Western Bulldogs midfielder Marcus Bontempelli will miss the Dogs' clash with Melbourne this weekend after having surgery to remove his appendix overnight.
Bontempelli trained on Tuesday as usual and without pain, although complained of severe abdominal pain soon after, and was immediately taken to hospital.
The star midfielder will miss the next 2-3 weeks, according to westernbulldogs.com.au.
