GWS pair Ryan Griffen and Will Setterfield will miss up to 10 weeks of football after the duo both suffered syndesdmosis injuries over the weekend.

Griffen sustained the ankle injury during the second quarter of the Giants' victory over North Melbourne in Hobart on Saturday, while Setterfield injured himself later that day in the NEAFL against Sydney Uni.

“These are disappointing setbacks for Ryan and Will at this early stage of the season," Giants Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said.

“Both players are currently in protective boots and we are mapping out the most appropriate management plans for them over the coming days.”

GWS co-captain Phil Davis also pulled up sore following Saturday's match, but has recovered well after a heavy hit and should face Port Adelaide in Canberra this weekend.
