Essendon have made two further list changes ahead of next month's AFL Draft.

Defender Ben McNiece has signed a one-year deal to remain at the Bombers, while Alex Morgan knocked back a one-year extension and will try his luck at another AFL club.

McNiece made his debut for the Bombers on ANZAC Day and played two senior matches in 2017, before injury interrupted his season.

“Ben began his career with Essendon in the VFL side, before he was signed with the Bombers in 2017 as a Category B Rookie,” Essendon's List and Recruiting Manager, Adrian Dodoro told essendonfc.com.au.

“In his several seasons in the red and black he has continued to develop on and off the field, displaying key values the club strives for.

“Ben’s attitude after being injured during the 2017 season has been commendable. His efforts to rehabilitate his body have been outstanding and make him a highly respected player at the Club.

“We are excited to see him back at his best next year and believe he will be a great addition to the Dons line-up.”

Morgan joined Essendon during the 2015 AFL Draft but failed to play a senior game during his two years at the club.

“We offered Alex a one year contract extension but he has indicated to us that he wants to seek other opportunities,” Dodoro added.

“We respect his decision, wish him all the best for the future and thank him for his time at the Bombers.”
