Carlton football director and Footy Classified panellist Chris Judd was the centre of attention on Monday night's edition of the Channel 9 program, but still managed to get a shot in at Fox Footy's Garry Lyon.

Lyon spoke about the Blues' decision to sack Brendon Bolton on On The Couch on Monday night, and said Carlton's board should also be in the firing line after another failed coach.

“They won’t go. But I’m holding them to account to what they said two weeks ago,” Lyon said.

“When you back your man in unequivocally and then two weeks later you sack him … the right thing to do would be to go. He (Chris Judd) won’t go. But the noble thing would be to go.”

“Lie to us all you want but don’t get sh***y when we don’t believe you."

Judd took umbrage to Lyon's comments, and told Footy Classified he won't be taking advice from Lyon on how to conduct himself.

“Garry’s entitled to his opinion,” Judd said.

“You won’t be surprised that I don’t look at him as a shining light on how I should act. That’s his call and so be it.

“I loved Garry Lyon when I was growing up, we don’t have to agree on all topics. Clearly I’m answerable to the members and the other members of the board.”

However, Lyon wasn't the only one questioning Judd's worth at Carlton, with former Blues great Mark Maclure wondering just how important Judd is in the Blues' ranks.

“I don’t know what Chris Judd has done,” Maclure told foxsports.com.au.

“I work in a business where people question us every day. The numbers come through and if they are not so good why aren’t they on the phone to them? Why aren’t they asking where are we at here?

“I’m not certain whether Chris Judd has done that or not. He’s the director of football and I don’t think he’s even been there.”

Judd defended his position at the club, suggesting his role as a non-executive director is to sit on management and football performance committees, and be a conduit between the boards and the football executives and the coaching staff.
