It's the question which is capturing the attention of the footy world following Essendon's sacking of Brad Scott.
Should James Hird return to coach the Bombers?
Hird has a 48-1-49 record at the helm, but oversaw the club's darkest chapter.
Now 53, he put forward his case on Channel 9's Footy Classified earlier this week, asserting he is much better equipped now, having held a director of coaching role at Port Melbourne since the start of last year.
Zero Hanger's editorial team has its say.

The Bombers should be liquidated if they let James Hird anywhere near the joint.
It would rank among the more backward decisions I've seen a supposedly professional organisation make.
He's not had any meaningful involvement in the landscape for years. A potential reunion would represent a desperate, nostalgia-driven ploy for relevance from the boys club currently helming this fallen powerhouse.
Hird also presided over one of the darkest stains on Australia's proud sporting history.
Doping scandal aside, he was not up to the task of coaching an AFL side - he took a far better list than the one the Bombers currently boast to multiple mediocre ladder finishes.
It's up to Andrew Welsh and co to find the next Craig McRae, Adam Kingsley or Steven King. The re-appointment of a favourite son would be as foolish as it would be lazy.
The damage may already be done, too, with coaches like Ken Hinkley skeptical of the Bombers' ‘process' until more clarity surrounding their position on Hird is forthcoming.
