Colourful media commentator Brian Taylor has fired back at Triple M colleagues Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy for naming him as football's vainest commentator on Tuesday.
During a radio segment on Tuesday, McGuire and Darcy suggested that Taylor was the unidentified media person highlighted in theย Herald Sunย who enjoys the camera time so much that their wife reportedly records notes on how often they appear on the TV broadcast.
And Taylor has not taken kindly to such claims, slamming Darcy during an on-air segment on Thursday that McGuire could not make due to another commitment.
"Youโre not kicking me out now Darce, because I have got a bone to pick with you,โ Taylor said onย Triple M.ย
โWhere is McGuire? This could end in a very, very aggressive way."
Taylor continued: โI am disgusted in your behaviour, Darcy and McGuire.
โDo you know my wife? Sheโs not interested in footy. She is interested in one thing, getting hold of your neck and wringing it. Yes, you, and McGuire.
โSheโs been a big supporter of both of you and she no longer has any support for either of you.โ
Taylor was clearly upset with the rumours that were made about him, and he did not let his radio colleagues off lightly.
"This is another fabricated story. That is absolute garbage," Taylor added.
"I take umbrage to that because people actually believe what you idiots say occasionally. And I am quite annoyed that you are able to fabricate lies and lie and I be the target of those lies and my wife, who doesnโt even bloody watch or listen to football. She hates football.
"I donโt care who it is. I didnโt want to be in the same business as you blokes as fabricating lies, but if I must, OK then. To me it can only boil down to two possibilities in the end. It can only be McGuire or Darcy.
"Now, when I see guys like you deflecting stuff my way, I think โ and the people out there should also immediately think โ uh huh, he must be the culprit himself. Darce, weโre teammates? Weโre teammates on Channel 7. Weโre teammates on Triple M. And here you are absolutely smacking me. Itโs no good.
The former Collingwood and Richmond great went on to say his support of Darcy and McGuireย โends nowโ.
โI wish McGuire was here. Iโd box his brains out if he was here,โ Taylor said.
โIโd give him a good swift kick up the cracker, McGuire. I tell you, Iโve had enough. Iโve been a great supporter of his and Iโve supported him too much and itโs going to end now. And that includes you (Darcy).โ
Asked by Darcy to put the rumours to bed and prove that there was no truth to any of the whispers, Taylor was bold.
โAt no point in time ever, was that even a possibility of that happening,โ he said.
โSo bring your evidence forward McGuire. Lay it on the table. Letโs see it. Itโs bulls**t.โ
