Intriguing vision has emerged showing Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge entering the playing surface during the Dogs' Friday night Wildcard Round victory.
The coach can be seen giving direction to his players and getting close to the line before noticing his positioning and taking several quick steps back.
Such an action can be referred to the AFL and a club can be sanctioned for such an incident. Had it been detected, field umpires also have the discretion to pay a free kick.
While it is likely to attract scrutiny, the accidental nature of the incident and Beveridge's clear contrition and movement upon realise he accidentally stepped over the line means the Dogs are likely to escape penalty.
Vision also emerged of Beveridge having heated words with ruck Tim English following the three-quarter-time huddle.
In isolation, the exchange can easily be written off as two passionate Bulldogs people wanting the best outcome, but with the context of Tim English believed to be considering his options at the end of the season, it was a fascinating watch.
