Contract Geelong defender Lawson Humphries is in the sights of minor premiers Fremantle, with the Cats tipped to be "aware of that interest" as the Dockers potentially look to pry the Western Australian home.
Humphries' name has already been raised in trade talks this off-season, with St Kilda believed to have asked the question of his services as Geelong plan to lure Saints tall Rowan Marshall to Kardinia Park.
For the Dockers, who are still recovering from Saturday's heartbreaking grand final defeat to Brisbane, attention quickly turns to next week's trade period commencement, with the Cockburn club's interest in Humphries set to remain.
Speaking on The Outer Wing, reporter Digby Beacham flagged Humphries as a name in the Dockers' sights this off-season, with Fremantle having shown consistent intrigue in the Pilbara product.
"A name that might pop up over the next week or so is Lawson Humphries," Beacham said.
"A WA boy that Fremantle have had their eye on for some time. How you prise him out of Geelong, I'm not sure you can, but I think the Lawson Humphries camp is aware that Fremantle are keen.
"I believe Geelong would be aware of that interest. What that looks like, we'll have to wait and see."
Humphries is contracted to Geelong until the end of 2028, having penned a two-year extension last December.
Fremantle will carry selections 17, 35, 53 and 71 into November's AFL Draft.
