Collingwood has confirmed midfielder James Aish has suffered a broken jaw following a collision with Hawthorn's Daniel Howe last night.

Aish and Howe both went in hard for a for a loose ball on the wing, with Aish coming off the worse of the pair.

AFL.com.au reports the Pies have confirmed Aish has a broken jaw, while teammate Adam Treloar, says the youngster will miss three to four weeks.

"He's extremely courageous and it shows with that act that he did there," Treloar said on Fox Footy on Sunday morning.

"We wish him the best and I think he's going to be back in hopefully three or four weeks' time."

Aish collected 11 disposals in last night's come from behind win over the Pies. He has played three games this season and a total of 18 matches for the club since crossing from the Lions at the end of 2015.
