Adelaide are optimistic that gun midfielder Matt Crouch will be fit to take on the Lions next Saturday.

The 24-year old suffered a big knock to his hip during the third quarter of Saturday night's Showdown win over Port Adelaide, and after failing to overcome the injury, was ruled out for the rest of the match.

However, Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders was confident Crouch wouldn't miss anymore footy.

"Matt sustained a heavy contusion early in the game to his left hip," Saunders told afc.com.au.

"He was able to continue for a period of time, but was then removed from play.

"We will reassess his progress tomorrow and plan his week's training from there.

"We expect him to make sufficient progress to be available for next week's game."

Crouch is averaging 31.2 disposals and 4.2 clearances this season.

Adelaide will be searching for their fifth-straight win when they meet Brisbane at the Gabba next Saturday, a venue they have not lost at since 2012.
