There's fresh injury concerns for West Coast forward Jack Darling, who appears to have suffered a suspected ankle injury at training on Friday.

Darling was participating in the Eagles' match simulation this morning when his left ankle became trapped under a tackle from teammate Jeremy McGovern. The Eagles veteran left the field with trainers as the simulation was paused after showing visible pain in the aftermath, per reports from The West Australian's Mitchell Woodcock.

The 30-year-old managed 21 games in 2022, kicking 34 goals in another consistent outing after an injury disrupted pre-season. Prior to leaving the field in the final term, Darling had kicked three majors and impressed onlookers ahead of his 13th season in the league.

The Eagles are already facing a forward line without the recently retired Josh Kennedy as Darling prepares for a possible stint on the sidelines.

Young forward Oscar Allen has returned to the fold after spending the entirety of last season in the club's casualty ward with a foot injury.

The club are yet to release any confirmed details on the potential injury.
