The Logan Morris no-goal from Thursday night's match between Brisbane and Sydney has become one of the many umpiring fiascos of 2026.

Morris kicked a set shot goal on the siren, but was deemed to have not reached the line of his mark when he kicked the ball. The goal was then disallowed before the AFL conceded that the decision was an error.

Speaking on the ABC's AFL Daily program, Brisbane coach Chris Fagan said he believes the goal should be reinstated.

"I think in this instance, where the siren had gone, and there was no more play to be had," Fagan said.

"He clearly kicked a goal, the umpire put his hands up for the goal, I think we should get those six points, personally. Because it might come down to percentage at the end of the year, who knows? And not that individual things are important, but Logan's pretty high up in the Coleman Medal.

"So what if he loses by one? Or he is equal? I know they're just little things and individual things, but I think in this instance, it's quite unique.

"I would actually give him the goal, but that's not up to me, is it?"

Morris finished the night with three majors, making it 38 for the season as he sits in outright fifth place in the Coleman Medal race.

After the 43-point victory over the Swans, the Lions sit in sixth place on the ladder with the sixth-best percentage across the league.
