Some of the AFL's biggest names of this century will step into the ring and go head-to-head on April 3 for 'The Gathering' in Adelaide, with the star-studded card headlined by the WBO Global Super Featherweight Title match between Jackson England vs Jamel Herring.

A total of 11 fights are scheduled on the card, with AFL bouts set to see Port Adelaide icon Kane Cornes take on former Western Bulldogs and Richmond star Nathan Brown, Collingwood favourite Dane Swan fight ex-teammate Dale Thomas, and 90's icons Anthony Rocca and Corey McKernan also trade blows.

A swing bout between retired AFL players Mitch Robinson and Kayne Pettifer will also take place at Adelaide 36ers Arena.

As well as the main event England vs Herring title fight, a mix of professionals and emerging boxing stars in Jack Brubaker, In Duk Seo, Alex Leapai Jr., Joe Ageli, Ben Bommber, Flin Makeham, Joel Camilleri, Joel Pavlides, Sergei Vorobev, Wes Capper, Terry Nickolas and Fano Koro will also feature.

The WBO Global Super Featherweight title fight will see Australian Jackson England (15-3) take on American and former WBO Junior Lightweight champion Jamel Herring in what is sure to be the fight of the night, with fans able to live stream The Gathering with this Pay Per View thanks to Stan.

Channel Nine colleagues Cornes and Brown will get their chance to showcase their strength in the ring, while colossus forwards of the past Rocca and McKernan will take centre stage as part of the proceedings.

Brownlow Medal winner Dane Swan will go head-to-head with close mate and former Collingwood premiership teammate Dale Thomas in what is sure to be a much-anticipated meeting.

Leapai Jnr has his own football background, having been listed with NRL clubs the Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast Titans before committing to professional boxing.

“We're thrilled to be delivering another epic Pay-Per-View event on Stan. The Gathering features one of the best cards of the year combining both AFL royalty and serious boxing talent, headlined by a title fight not to be missed," Stan director of sports Ben Kimber said in a statement.
