The suspended Demon was given some time off over the weekend to go back home and visit some family, as his father deals with a health problem.
Vision emerged of Hogan at the Hot Dub Wine Machine concert in Swan Valley on Saturday, as the star forward walked through a crowd with a cigarette.
Demons football manager Josh Mahoney said the club was aware of the incident and is understanding of Hogan’s current family situation, but didn’t condone the action of smoking itself.
“Over the past few months, Jesse has been dealing with the deterioration of his father’s health and the club took the opportunity, with him being suspended, to give him three days away from the club over the weekend,” Mahoney said.
“He decided to use this opportunity to return to Perth to get some time away.
“Whilst we don’t condone Jesse’s actions captured in the vision, the club will continue to support Jesse through this very difficult time.”
