Saturday's clash between the Hawks and Suns has reportedly been postponed, according to Fox Sports' Tom Morris.

The news comes as after the latest COVID-19 virus outbreak in Melbourne, with all 10 Victorian clubs told to follow 'COVID supplementary protocols'.

Hawthorn were set for the trip to Darwin to face the Suns at TIO Stadium in Darwin, with that game now set to move to a later point in the season with both clubs set to have byes for Round 11.

Morris has reported that the match could be moved to Metricon Stadium, but is facing the likely reality of being postponed.

The Northern Territory are understood to be nearing an announcement on border closers to Victoria following the latest outbreak.

Both clubs were scheduled to have their byes in Round 12, with a decision on when their now-postponed clash will come yet to be decided.

Carlton and Essendon scrambled to leave Victoria on Wednesday for their respective interstate games against Sydney and West Coast, with the Hawks unable to leave their home state midweek.

The AFL and Victorian Government have confirmed that two separate positive COVID-19 cases attended Round 10 games Essendon vs North Melbourne and Collingwood vs Port Adelaide.
