A Hawthorn star's 2025 season appears in jeopardy while a Pies youngster has been ruled out following a campaign-ending operation.
There's mixed news for Giants veterans, with one set to return through the reserves while the other is set to be sidelined for another week.
Here's all the latest injury news from across theย AFL...
Experienced Eagles pair on track for return
West Coast could recall Tom Cole and Matt Owies for Friday's clash against GWS.
Cole has recovered from a hamstring strain, while Owies has worked his way back from a calf complaint.
"In good news, after big rehab sessions on the weekend, bothย Tom Cole and Matt Owiesย will return to play this round from their injuries they suffered before the bye," High Performance Manager Mat Inness said.
"They've progressed through their respective programs and will be available for selection."
Tyrell Dewar missed last week's contest against the Pies with a hamstring injury, and will be absent again given the short turnaround between matches.
Forgotten Freo midfielder in the mix
Jaeger O'Meara's cautious approach has him primed for a return this weekend, pending that he gets through all required training sessions.
Captain Alex Pearce and forward Sam Sturt are inching closer to a return to football, and like O'Meara, will need to get through the week's program.
Ruckman Liam Reidy was a late withdrawal from the Peel Thunder clash with rib soreness but is building toward a return.
Hayden Young is also deemed a few weeks away after a wretched run with injuries in 2025.
Veteran Michael Walters is still "experiencing some ongoing knee soreness" as no clear timeline on his return has been made by the Dockers.
Mixed injury news for Essendon
The Bombers could welcome Zach Reid, Jordan Ridley and Saad El-Hawli to their Saturday line-up against Gold Coast.
Essendon enjoyed their mid-season bye and, according to the club, the trio have trained and prepared well enough to put their hand up for selection.
Mason Redman was sent for precautionary scans after experiencing some hamstring awareness, which was ultimately cleared of any strain.
However, Redman will still miss and aim to return against Richmond next week.
Kyle Langford and Darcy Parish both suffered setbacks in the club's Saturday morning training sessions.
Scans confirmed Langford sustained a quad strain, with no timeframe clear on his return.
As for Parish, his discomfort revealed a minor strain to his calf and will also be sidelined for an extended period.
Geelong veteran set for reserves
Cameron Guthrie looks poised to return via the VFL after overcoming a minor calf complaint, while Jacob Molier (management) and Lenny Hofmann (back) are in contention to make their Cats debuts this weekend.
Toby Conway remains a fortnight away due to load management, while Sam De Koning is another 2-3 weeks away with a shoulder injury.
Jhye Clark remains in concussion protocols.
Collingwood blow as debutant hit for six
Collingwood forward Charlie West will miss up to six weeks after suffering a minor third metatarsal bone stress reaction in his debut game.
Hawks trio to prove fitness
Hawthorn could welcome back James Sicily, James Worpel and Jack Scrimshaw for Saturday's clash against St Kilda.
Scrimshaw trained fully on Saturday and looks poised to return from a hamstring injury.
Sicily's hip and abdominal issues appear to have subsided, and similar to Scrimshaw, has been training in recent days in a bid to return to the senior side.
As for Worpel, he'll need to get through the week's program to be deemed available for selection after a corked quad.
Power duo pushing for recall
Port Adelaide could regain Ollie Wines and Ryan Burton for the crucial clash against Brisbane.
The pair have battled knee problems in recent weeks, and will be tested throughout the week to see if they're ready to return.
Wines is recovering from a medial ligament injury, while Burton experienced general knee soreness in last week's SANFL game.
Tigers star pick ready to return
Richmond's Sam Lalor is all but set to return to the senior side after overcoming a hamstring injury.
"Sam passed all of his tests last week, but we made a decision that the best thing for him going forward for his long-term career was to just get a few more football exposures before we throw him back into AFL football," High Performance Manager Ben Serpell said.
"He did some extra footy training last week, and he will get through a full session tomorrow, and then we will see him out there this weekend."
Josh Gibcus could make his long-awaited return, and will need to get through Wednesday's training session.
"Gibo's just got to get through one more training session tomorrow, a light training session, and happy to say (after that) he will play his first game of footy for a long time," Serpell said.
Premiership defender Jayden Short will also need to get through the week's main session to be deemed available following persistent calf issues.
Harry Armstrong is another week away, while Campbell Gray (knee) and Josh Smillie (conditioning) need a fortnight.
Forward Mykelti Lefau sustained a calf injury in the loss to Adelaide over the weekend, and has been ruled out for at least a month.
Crows forward a "test"
Adelaide is confident that forward Luke Pedlar will be available for selection this week after the club opted to take a conservative approach with his quad injury.
"Luke didn't quite make it last week; he just had a little bit of awareness, so we decided to hold him back a week," Adelaide High Performance Manager Burgess said.
"We're hopeful he'll get through training and be available this week."
Forward Toby Murray has begun running after injuring his ankle, and will enter a reconditioning period before joining main training.
Midfielder Matt Crouch will aim to return to training next week from a hip injury.
Suns youngster available
Gold Coast forward Jake Rogers has overcome his ankle injury to be made available for selection this weekend.
Rogers hasn't been seen since Round 9 against the Western Bulldogs, but is expected to put his hand up to face Essendon at Marvel Stadium.
Tom Berry (knee) and Caleb Graham (Achilles) are also expected to return in the coming weeks.
Payne update
Brisbane defender has begun his rehabilitation process after he ruptured his patella tendon in Round 14.
Payne underwent knee surgery last month and has started his journey back from injury.
Fellow defender Tom Doedee trained on Tuesday after exiting concussion protocols, and will need to prove his fitness this week to be available against Port Adelaide.
Key Roos out as six press their case
George Wardlaw has entered concussion protocols after copping a knock from Conor Nash and will miss Thursday's game against the Western Bulldogs.
"His rehab will be guided by club doctors and will progress through the stages of the protocol safely," North Melbourne head physiotherapist Brenton Egglestone said.
Veteran forward Jack Darling has been ruled out for at least one week after suffering a groin injury against the Hawks.
Fellow senior players Luke McDonald (shoulder) and Luke Parker (soreness) will both face fitness tests later in the week, as will Charlie Comben (shoulder), Jackson Archer (hamstring), Eddie Ford (foot) and Josh Goater (quad).
Pies pair in doubt for Blues clash
Collingwood could be without bothย Steele Sidebottomย andย Bobby Hillย for Friday's clash with Carlton, while coachย Craig McRaeย will welcome the return of premiership defenderย Brayden Maynardย for the affair.
Sidebottom is currently dealing with illness this week, alongside ruckmanย Iliro Smit and small forward Lachie Schultz, while Hill missed last week due to personal reasons.
Young defenderย Jakob Ryan's season is over after he reported stress in his foot, with the South Australian undergoing a campaign-ending operation on Tuesday.
Jordan De Goey suffered a concussion at training, meaning he will miss at least the next 12 days as he attempts to return from a persistent Achilles injury.
Weddles woes
Hawthorn defender Josh Weddle has been ruled out with a bone stress in his back, which puts his 2025 season in jeopardy.
Weddle, who has been an influential part of Hawthorn's attacking raids from the backline, missed the light training session on Tuesday with the injury to his back that will see him miss a significant chunk of football.

Giant blow as defender ruled out
Lachie Whitfield won't be making his return this week against West Coast after failing to exit the concussion protocols.
Whitfield suffered a head knock before the club's mid-season bye against Gold Coast, and would've been available if he ticked off all the required boxes.
Kieren Briggs, Stephen Coniglio, Jesse Hogan, Phoenix Gothard and Jack Ough will all be a test for this weekend.
GWS coach Adam Kingsley confirmed Coniglio will return through the VFL.
As for Hogan, he'll need to get through Wednesday's training session to be deemed available for Friday's clash, flagging soreness in his foot.
Fears for Fyfe as soft-tissue injury down star
Fremantle have revealed veteranย Nat Fyfeย is facing up to a month on the sidelines after hurting his calf in a warm-up on Sunday.
Scans have since revealed a moderate calf strain that will sideline Fyfe for 2-4 weeks in what is the latest frustrating injury blow for the midfielder.
"Obviously frustrating for Nat after he was able to get some continuity with his body in the last month," said Fremantle Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty.
"He will now commence an offloading and reconditioning period, and our performance health team will set the program with Nat to return to football in the next few weeks."
Carlton hits crisis as son-of-a-gun hurt
Carlton defenderย Jack Silvagni is in doubt to face arch rivals Collingwood on Friday night at the MCG due to an ongoing groin complaint.
Silvagni battled through the pain to face Port Adelaide in Round 16, but is understood to be training away from the main group with the rehab collective at Ikon Park.
The father-son gun was subbed out of the Round 10 loss to Sydney with a groin injury, and missed the following week.
According toย Channel 7'sย Mitch Cleary, the 27-year-old could miss more than the Pies clash, which would be a massive blow to the Blues given the key players already sidelined through injury.
Dashing defenderย Adam Saadย will miss Friday's game due to a concussion.
Fellow defenderย Jacob Weiteringย is also nursing a troublesome ankle, but was seen against the Power, albeit not at the standards Carlton fans have become accustomed to.
