Mitch Lewis' first game since shunning free agency and signing a new deal to stay with the Hawks has not gone the way he and his club would have hoped.
Lewis was helped from the ground with a concussion in the first quarter of his side's clash with the Bombers, after an incidental clash of heads when attempting to lay a tackle. He will not return, and miss next week's clash with North Melbourne, too.
With blood gushing from his right eyebrow, the big man appeared to stagger, clearly dazed after the contact. The stretcher was called for but ultimately not required, after the 27-year-old left the ground under his own power.
Evening the ledger, in-demand Bombers defender Jordan Ridley was ruled out of the contest with a foot injury in the second term.

He has been widely reported to be seeking a move to Queensland, with a fresh start for his failing body one of the driving factors behind a potential move.
Hawthorn are up by 37 points at the time of writing, clearly possessing more firepower than the young Bombers can match.
