Harrison Jones failed to feature at AFL or VFL level this weekend, with reports from Code Sports revealing that the young Bomber is dealing with a back injury.

Jones reportedly trained in the lead up to Round 8 but suffered the ailment on Friday, with confirmation on the injury expected from the Bombers throughout the week.

Per reports from Code's Dan Cherny, Jones could be facing a substantial amount of time on the sidelines. The young Bomber managed just 10 in 2022, with his total career tally currently sitting at 31 games.

The 20-year-old is now expected to join several other Bombers on Essendon's injury list, as will Jordan Ridley who suffered a concussion during Essendon's Round 8 clash against Port Adelaide.

Ridley was replaced by Jye Menzie in the second term after an incident with Port's Junior Rioli.
