Melbourne defender Judd McVee will make his return to football from a long-term hamstring setback on Saturday with Casey in the VFL.
McVee hasn't been sighted this season due to the ailment, which was sustained in early February after suffering the setback at training.
The Western Australian has been a staple in Simon Goodwin's side over the past two seasons, playing a total of 48 games since making his debut in the Demons' 2023 season opener against the Western Bulldogs.
A step closer to returning to Goodwin's side, McVee will suit up for the VFL Demons this weekend at Casey Fields against GWS in a Casey side stacked with AFL-listed talent.
McVee is one of five AFL level inclusions for the Demons, who have gained dropped forward pair Jacob van Rooyen and Bayley Fritsch, while Matt Jefferson (hand) and Luker Kentfield (illness) also return.
Casey will have a total of 15 AFL-listed players face the Giants, who have 16 of their own for the Round 4 affair, with the Demons to boast a tall attacking third consisting of Fritsch, van Rooyen, Jefferson and Aidan Johnson.
Kentfield could also be positioned forward, however has been named in defence alongside Jed Adams, Ollie Sestan and McVee.
McVee's return will see the 21-year-old play his first game in the VFL since Casey's grand final victory over Southport, which also featured van Rooyen, Bailey Laurie and Taj Woewodin.
VFL-listed small forward Roy George has also come into the side as the fifth addition for his maiden game at the level this year.
Talls Blake Howes and Tom Fullarton have come out of the side after earning spots in the senior side, while ruckman Tom Campbell will miss due to a hamstring injury.
Casey have worked through a balanced start to the season, recording one win, one loss and one draw from their three games.
