Port Adelaide's Jared Polec faces a race against the clock to be ready for the Power's season opener on March 24.

The Alberton club take on Fremantle at the Adelaide Oval in round one but could be without the winger as he battles a hamstring injury.

With Polec set to miss the Power's JLT clashes against West Coast on February 25 and Adelaide on March 10, it puts his season start date up in the are.

Teammates Chad Wingard, Todd Marshall and Lindsay Thomas won't know until later in the week if they are to figure in this weekend's clash with the trio all battling injuries of their own however Robbie Gray will see some game time after overcoming an adductor injury.

Off-season recruit Steven Motlop is also likely to run out in Power colours for the first time after being cleared of any further groin damage.
