Could a rival club be better suited for Jeremy Cameron?

The GWS star is yet to sign a contract extension for the 2021 season, and Kane Cornes says Cameron would be a ‘perfect’ fit for the Cats.

“If you could get Jeremy Cameron into [the] Geelong mix, that is perfect,” he said to Channel Nine’s Footy Classified.

“Cameron kicks six just like Hawkins did on Friday night if he gets the delivery.

"The Giants had 53 entries but it was pretty ugly, it was pretty messy. It does appear a good fit at the Cats,” Cornes said.

Although Cameron may be a good fit for Geelong, Cornes said the move would depend on how much the Cats could pay their current loyal crop.

“I think Geelong have always been strong on rewarding loyalty.

"That’s why there was talk that [Patrick] Dangerfield didn’t get paid more than [Joel] Selwood when he came in, and you reward that.

“So, Hawkins has to be rewarded for his form and his loyalty, albeit he is 32. There’s a discount that comes with that,” Cornes said.

Hawkins, who is leading the Coleman Medal after Round 12, also tops the league for goal assists to be in contention for a third All-Australian blazer.

The Cats star remains in contract limbo alongside Cameron, despite the AFL lifting its contract freeze.

Where do you think these players will end up?
