GWS has shown interest in a pair of rucks following the departure of Kieran Briggs.

Hawthorn's Ned Reeves and VFL ruck Alex Mirkov are being considered, according to AFL Trade Radio.

Reeves is contracted until 2029 and the Hawks would likely need a meaty offer to part with the big man who played 15 games this season.

Max Ramsden is the Hawks only other ruck and scuttlebutt at various points in 2026 has linked him with a move.

Hawthorn played much of the season with a two-ruck setup so would likely be reluctant to offload one, let-alone both.

But the Giants will be able to offer Reeves greater opportunity.

Mirkov, meanwhile, is a former Blue who spent the year at Williamstown, averaging 12 disposals and 33 hitouts.

GWS' currently-listed rucks are Nick Madden, who has played just 12 games - including the last six of 2026 - and the untried Logan Smith.
