Fremantle will be without star midfielder Hayden Young for the club's upcoming pre-season match against the Indigenous All Stars, while top recruit Shai Bolton is also no certainty to suit up for the showcase game.
Young has suffered a low-grade hamstring strain that will put a line through his plans to play in an intraclub session this week and next Saturday's opening practice match at Optus Stadium.
The low severity of the setback will have Young in the frame for the Dockers' second and final pre-season fixture against Melbourne, with the defender-turned-midfielder still in the mix for Round 1.
Scans have found a minor calf strain for Bolton, who will be tested over the coming week before a decision is made on whether he will play for the Indigenous All Stars on February 15.
"Fremantle has confirmed that forward Shai Bolton's calf scan over the weekend revealed a minor strain," a club update read.
"The 26-year-old will be on lighter duties this week before returning to training next week. Bolton will be a test to play for the Indigenous All Stars on Saturday 15 February.
"Meanwhile, the Club can confirm that young midfielder Hayden Young has suffered a low-grade hamstring injury and will be unavailable for the Club's intraclub game on Friday and the Indigenous All Stars game the following week."
The pair of injury concerns add to a small contingent of Dockers currently occupying the club's casualty ward, with senior trio Sean Darcy, Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters all recovering from knee procedures.
SSP addition Quinton Narkle has faced an interrupted opening pre-season with Fremantle due to a navicular injury, while fringe tall Odin Jones has been ruled out of the coming season after fracturing a vertebra in the off-season.
Following the Indigenous All Stars game, the Dockers head to Mandurah on March 2 for a meeting with the Demons.
That clash falls less than a fortnight prior to Fremantle's season opener against Geelong at Kardinia Park in Round 1.
