Carlton has revealed their jumper numbers for the 2021 AFL Season, headlined by boom recruit Zac Williams’ inheriting a number synonymous with a modern-day great.

The former Giant, who came across to Ikon Park at the end of the 2020 season, will wear the No. 6, left behind by Kade Simpson, who retired at the end of last season.

Simpson played 342 games for the Blues in the No. 6 dating back to his debut in the 2003 AFL season, also winning the Blues’ best and fairest in 2013.

The No. 6 has also been worn by the likes of best and fairest winners Bob Chitty, Garry Crane and Em Henfry – all three of them also featuring in Carlton premierships.

Adam Saad will stick with the No. 42 guernsey at his new club, after playing 109 games across both Gold Coast and Essendon.

Carlton’s other recruit from the trade period, Lachie Fogarty, will wear the No. 8, previously worn by the freshly retired ruckman Matthew Kreuzer.

From the draftee side of things, the Blues’ first pick from the 2020 Draft Corey Durdin will wear the No. 29 in 2021.

Jack Carroll will don the No. 16, whilst rookie-listed defender Luke Parks will wear 26.
