North Melbourne has suffered a huge blow on the eve of its clash with Geelong at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with star ruckman Todd Goldstein leaving training on crutches on Friday.

The severity of Goldstein's injury is unknown at this stage, but it appears unlikely that he will line-up for the Roos in tomorrow's game.

The 28-year-old battled an ankle injury throughout the pre-season.

It is a further blow to North's big man stocks, with key forward Jarrad Waite already ruled out for up to six weeks with a shoulder injury.
