Gold Coast defender Jack Bowes has reportedly informed the club he would like to explore his options in the upcoming trade period.

The former top ten draft pick is one of a number of Suns who could be headed for the exit door with Izak Rankine destined for the Crows, while Brayden Fiorini reportedly in the sights of Collingwood.

According to the Herald Sun's Marc McGowan, opposition clubs are aware of the 24-year-olds desire to seek pastures new, with the Suns open to a deal.

Bowes has managed just five games this season after injuring his shoulder at the start of the new year.

The Suns are set to welcome Saint Ben Long into the fold with the halfback mooted to sign a four-year deal with Gold Coast.

While the Saints have said they are disappointed with Long's decision and he is always welcome to stay, a deal is expected to be struck between the two clubs.

Ben has had a contract offer from the club for a number of months now, so we’re naturally disappointed to receive this news, particularly as we believe Ben has a lot of good football in front of him,” St Kilda Head of List Management James Gallagher said.

“While the option to stay at the Saints remains, and we would be disappointed to see Ben go, we will work with the Suns to see if an appropriate trade can be reached.”

Having played 83 games in his six seasons as a Sun, Bowes is another top ten pick the Suns have failed to hold on to.

From his draft alone Will Brodie and Jack Scrimshaw have both departed Carrara in recent years.
