AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has all but confirmed who the headline act will be at this year's grand final.

Last month McLachlan confirmed that Australian acts Vance Joy and The Living End will feature as part of the grand final entertainment.

He also revealed that a third act, which would be announced at a later date, would be performing.

Speaking on 3AW Radio on Friday morning, McLachlan said he "wouldn't deny" rumours Sting will perform on October 1st.

"We sort of know, we just haven't announced it," McLachlan confessed.
