Giants young gun Jackson Hately has requested a trade to the Adelaide Crows.

The club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the 19-year old wanted to return to his home state South Australia.

Giants General Manager Football Jason McCartney said the club will now explore trade options for the young midfielder.

“Jackson has informed the club of his hope to return to South Australia so we will now investigate trade options with a view to getting the best possible outcome for the Giants," McCartney told gwsgiants.com.au.

Hately was drafted to GWS with Pick 14 in the 2018 AFL Draft and has played 13 games for the club.

He joins Aidan Corr and Zac Williams in departing the club this off-season, while the futures of Jeremy Cameron, Jye Caldwell and Xavier O'Halloran remain up in the air.
