Geelong forward Brad Close has extended his time at the club after penning a three-year extension, taking him until at least the end of 2028.
Close was taken as a rookie in 2019 but has defied the odds to carve out a successful career under Chris Scott.
The 26-year-old has played 101 games in the hoops, kicking 89 goals and becoming an integral part of the Cats' forward line.
Close played a heavy hand in Geelong's 2022 premiership triumph, kicking 26 majors for the season, including two in the decider as well as averaging at least one goal assist per match.
"I am really excited to sign on, I have loved my time at Geelong so far and I am looking forward to the years ahead and what we can achieve," Close said.
"I still pinch myself every day that I landed at the Cats. The goal was to play one game, but to now tick over 100 games last year, with hopefully more to come, is something I am looking forward to."
Geelong EGM of Football Andrew Mackie said the club couldn't be prouder of the South Australian's development, and is excited about what he'll produce in the years to come.
"Brad has become an integral piece of our team. He is a great teammate and someone who can impact the game in multiple ways," Mackie said
"We look forward to seeing him continue to improve and develop over the next three years alongside a core group of players."
After a false start in Opening Round due to the cyclone, Geelong will kick off their 2025 campaign against Fremantle in front of the home crowd at GMHBA Stadium.
