Geelong midfielder Jack Bowes might be on the move again this off-season as the 28-year-old considers a trade to Essendon.
The Cats midfielder has fallen out of favour at the club in 2026, playing only nine games after featuring in 43 across 2024-25.
AFL Media is reporting that Bowes will soon meet with Essendon list manager Matt Rosa as the Bombers look to rejig their problematic midfield in 2027.
Essendon is eager to add tough and experienced on-ballers while also considering former Melbourne captain Jack Viney.
The Bombers are open to the idea of All-Australian midfielder Darcy Parish seeking a trade, while former Pick 5 Elijah Tsatas has been delisted.
Bowes moved from Gold Coast to Geelong at the end of 2022 in a highly publicised trade.
The Suns have been eager to offload some of their salary constraints, trading Bowes and Pick 7 to the Cats in return for a third-round pick.
Geelong then picked up Bowes' contract, which ran out at the conclusion of the Cats' season.
The midfielder has been offered a new deal to stay in Geelong, but he is considering his options as he hopes for guaranteed AFL minutes.
While Essendon is leading the way, North Melbourne has also shown interest in the Cats player.
Bowes has played 152 games since being taken by Gold Coast with Pick 10 in the 2016 AFL National Draft.
